3 wheel pushchair
Whether you're looking for a buggy to jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver, even in tight places.
For a smooth ride, go for a pram fitted with air-filled tyres and look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. They are, however, susceptible, to punctures. Be prepared with a repair set.
Frame made of sturdy material
Recent figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled vehicle - that noughties symbol of more money than wisdom is in a decline. Four-wheelers have replaced them, and are more flexible and simple to drive, while also looking stylish.

The larger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front allow you to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on a newborn baby and a toddler and found it very durable. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. She said that it felt sturdy to push, and very stable on difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflated and require to be pumped regularly and have a suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my children.
The shape and size of the seat is another aspect to consider. You want the seat to be big enough to allow your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat that lets your child face you, whereas others only allow a parent-facing one.
A great choice for tackling off-road or muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. This buggy can be used as a one-person unit from birth and then adapts to take two children when your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4 and includes a bumper with a rain cover, an upgraded 5-point harness, and a big cushioned seat. Storage options are also great with a large storage basket with zip pockets on the hood, and an extra pouch at the rear of seat unit.
Wheels with larger diameter
Larger wheels mean your buggy will be more stable on rough terrain - perfect for off-road buggies. They also help you maneuver the pushchair through narrow spaces. Some three-wheeled buggies come with wheels that swivel at the front to assist you in navigating tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock for increased speed and stability. This also helps when you crash into an unintentional tree root or road, as the front wheel can be lifted up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres that allow them to tackle a broad range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures, so you'll need a repair kit, spare inner tube and pump handy.
Some of our favourite 3-wheelers include the Mountain Buggy Core and Venicci Carbo Lux. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly move up and down kerbs. The buggies also come with suspensions that Kath says "smooths out bumps extremely effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide and they may be a challenge to fit into narrow spaces. This can be an issue when you're using it for an exercise bike or to to get through doors that are narrow when out and about. Fortunately, many models come with small folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels to make compact storage.
Easy to manoeuvre
A three-wheeler can be easier to maneuver with a child. They are designed so that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler, and she wrote: "The Terrain is a delight to navigate in rough terrain. The front swivel wheel was especially helpful." I was also amazed by how well it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. I found it extremely steady when I was driving downhill or over uneven ground."
The only downside to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you need to keep in mind when your home is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheel buggy may be a better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars will protect your child from bumps and scrapes when out and out and about. They are simple and quick to install and make your child feel secure and safe while out on the town or on the trail.
This bumper bar is designed to match the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller. It features a soft, padded surface that provides a comfortable place for your child to hold onto while walking. The sturdy construction and durable design ensure that your child will take a stroll around town without having to worry about falling out of the buggy or leaning too far forward.
The fabric sling seat sits snug inside the frame rather than over it as modular seats, delivering the lowest centre of gravity at the appropriate height for your infant and also providing great weight distribution for a simple kerb pop (it takes much less effort to push the buggy over and up the curb than you think). MFM reviewer Kath discovered that it was able to cope well with cobbles and grass and it's a good option for jogging due to its lockable swivel front wheel and air-filled tyres.

The clever design of the Sport places the fabric sling seat inside the frame, rather than over it like modular seats. With the 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled which allow for a smoother, more comfortable jog.

Kath the MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of the buggy. There's a nimble large basket that's surprisingly spacious for a buggy that's this big. Plus, there's also a handy pouch on the back of the unit, and 2 smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood to keep your keys and phone.
